I built my 2-chamber wood kiln in Summer 2010. If you are interested in helping with a firing, or renting kiln space please email me. Firings are approximately 72 hours long. The rear chamber is used for soda firing and glaze ware. Occasionally I teach wood firing classes. Look here for more information.

Studio Residencies/Internships are also available.

In the Fall 2011 we filmed a time lapse video of a 72 hour firing from my kiln. This video, and some of the peripheral footage, can be viewed on my YouTube page.

In the September 2011 issue of Ceramics Monthly a world map of wood kilns was published. My kiln, along with many others, is listed as one with options for community access. I offer internship and residency opportunities, and occasionally teach classes. If you're interested in this, or some other kiln access opportunity, please contact me. Simon Levin has also put together a great world map of wood kilns.

I have found these resource books to be very helpful in planning and constructing kilns:

Wood-Fired Stoneware and Porcelain -- by Jack Troy

Anagama: Building Kilns and Firing -- by Furutani Michio

Japanese Wood-Fired Ceramics -- by Masakazu Kusakabe and Marc Lancet

The Kiln Book -- By Fred Olsen
